Acute Myelogenous Leukaemia
Leukaemia is a very dreadful disease, which is caused when the normal cells in the bone marrow start multiplying abnormally. These blood cells start accumulating without any rhyme and reason and because there live longer than normal cells, they get into the bloodstream. Just imagine that there is one simple normal cell functioning normally in the bone marrow.
Suddenly something goes wrong with its functioning capacities and it changes into another cell that has absolutely no use at all. This abnormal cell is now going to because the blast cell. When these cells, which do not have any useful function, start accumulating in the body, they are going to cause a cancer.
AML is one of the most common types of cancer. This acute cancer means that these abnormal cells are going to be multiplying at a completely astonishing rate and taking over the normal cells of the bone marrow. That means there is going to be a case of total bone marrow failure, because the normal cells are not present to produce cells that are even more normal. One might confuse the symptoms of AML with influenza.
The symptoms are a great loss, fever, and fatigue, loss of appetite, anaemia, bone pain, infections, and joint pain. The only way to treat AML is by chemotherapy, bone marrow transplants, and biological therapy. Both MSN children are affected by AML. One also can try a limited exposure to radiation that destroys only harmful cells in the bone marrow.
