Acute Lymphoblast Leukaemia
Acute lymphoblast leukaemia or ALL is one of the most common of leukaemia types. The white blood cells are known as lymphocytes. They are manufactured in the bone marrow. Suddenly they decide to behave abnormally and start multiplying without any restriction. This is possibly because their normal biological functions have become disturbed due to some external factors. These cells are now going to multiply in abundance in the form of a cancer.
They are also going to spread all over the area. Acute lymphoblastic leukaemia is caused when the lymphocytes do not grow to full maturity, just because they cannot function normally. Imagine that a person is suffering from ALL. He is going to bleed and suffer from infections even more because the normal blood cells are limited in number. ALL normally occurs in children, whose resistance capabilities are less than those capabilities in a normal healthy adult human being. The symptoms of ALL are infections, fever, weight loss, headaches, stomach aches, etc…
ALL can be treated with chemotherapy, which means the use of drugs that can destroy these cells. Transplant of bone marrow may put the disease into remission. There are some drugs and proteins, which are able to attach themselves to the cells, which enable other healthy white blood cells to destroy them. Scientists are also looking for alternative medicines and biology therapy to strengthen the immunity system of a child so that he is able to fight cancer.
